tracy jason 4

Tracy Dudley, Founder
As a true Colorado Native, Tracy has been an active volunteer in the local volleyball community for nearly 15 years.  Picking up the sport late in life, she has played in and organized countless adult competitive leagues & tournaments across the state—including virtually every format at every level of play: hard-court, grass, sand, 2s, 4s, 6s, coed, reverse coed & women’s.  Approximately 2 years ago the business that operated a local volleyball building went under and all of the clientele were stranded without a home.  After much hesitation and external persuasion, Tracy reluctantly agreed to take on the arduous task of long-term success of this fantastic volleyball resource.  With Tracy's magic touch, the place became busier and livelier than ever with positive energy that was contagious.  Having created the largest youth volleyball organization in Colorado, she is now on to her next challenge of expanding beyond the south metro area!

By trade, Tracy is a successful marketing professional who operates her own research and analysis company.   She has played an integral role in consultation to many Fortune 500 companies, such as Kellogg's, Microsoft, Target Stores, Wells Fargo, Kroger, Procter and Gamble, McDonald's and many more.  More than 2 decades ago, she graduated with Phi Beta Kappa outstanding academic honors from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor’s Degree in Adult and Child Psychology.  From this same University, she also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing--graduating with Beta Gamma Sigma academic honors and professional excellence.  Tracy is a published author who also currently writes for her local community newspaper.  She is the wife of her high school sweetheart and has 2 young sons who have both participated in South Metro Volleyball programs.

“My only reward in facilitating volleyball programs is happy players.  I do what I do because I want people to have fun and develop a life-long passion for volleyball.”

"On a positive note, kudos to you moms keeping this going! We were new to this league just this past round and were very thankful you opened it up to us! Our girls made great new friends and had a terrific coach they could really relate to. We experienced only positive things and wanted to pass that on to you. You are doing a terrific job, and we hope your kids know how much time and effort it took. They're very lucky to have such dedicated parents! Signed, A Very Pleased Parent!"
—Kelly M, Lakewood

"I respect Tracy for creating a volleyball program that is affordable...and therefore kid and family-friendly. It can be tempting to charge as much as we can because they'll pay it...but, then there are people like Tracy that do youth athletics for the kids, not themselves. Way to go Tracy!"
—Joe Harmon,
Founder, Big House Sports

"I love being a positive influence in the lives of  these girls.  Each of them has something special that deserves to be nurtured and grown.  Volleyball is a sport that really allows kids to shine while developing lifelong team-building and friendship skills at the same time.  When Tim and I coach, we truly take on our players as if they are our own children.  Not only do we focus on improving the physical aspects of their game, we also instill good sportsmanship, integrity, and honesty...which are qualities they will always be able to use."

"Tim and DeeAnn Arey simply are the BEST! They are extremely knowledgeable about volleyball, and like parents, they expect a lot from their 'kids'. They are there to teach, lead, be compassionate and have fun...just as a great parent would. We feel blessed to have crossed paths with them. Our daughter has grown tremendously as a volleyball player, but more importantly as a person. We will forever be grateful to Tim and DeeAnn for their unbelievable dedication to our kids and to South Metro.

scott20pic1

Scott Bunker, PCA Certified Coach
Scott likes to go "all out" on things.  When both of his daughters took a strong interest in volleyball, he built a full-sized court in the back yard where they play all of the time.  While he played for fun in college, Scott did not take a serious interest in volleyball until he started volunteer coaching a couple of teams through Castle Rock Parks & Recreation.  At one point, a head coach had abandoned his daughter's team, and he felt compelled to step in and help the players because it was the right thing to do.  After continuing to coach for several subsequent sessions, Scott unexpectedly found himself addicted to volleyball and coaching.

Despite being a long-time friend of the Dudley family, Scott found his way to South Metro Volleyball through other word of mouth.  Immediately stepping into assistant coaching under one of our best coaches, Scott was hooked on the South Metro philosophy of high-caliber positive coaching and empowering players to reach their maximum potential.  Scott holds a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science from Colorado State University, with a minor in Meteorology.  He currently works as a Lead Software Engineer for one of the region's largest telecommunications corporations.  By passion, he is an avid landscaper, tree expert (has planted more than 120 trees), musician, skier, and acclaimed Christmas light authority and aficionado: RockinChristmas.com.

"I enjoy how challenging the game of volleyball is.  I enjoy working with the players, watching them grow and realizing their true potential: giving them the confidence, skills, tactics and mental fortitude to believe in themselves and perform at a high level.  I feel that I’m not only developing volleyball players, but the leaders and coaches of tomorrow.  I bring a creative and practical approach to coaching.  I find that my main strengths are: character, integrity and determination.  If my players emulate me in these ways, they will be able to climb any mountain they choose."

"Coach Scott has a passion for the sport. He is well organized, very open in his communication, and easily accessible for parents and players. He encourages all his players, but really seems to challenge those that demonstrate an ability and willingness to learn."
—Anonymous

"Scott is very organized in terms of practices.  He runs good drills all the time, and this session has been fantastic!  I loved it, and so did my daughter!"

Accolades include Coach of the Year, All Colorado Coach, and All State Coach more times than you can fathom.  In 2003, he was nominated for NHSCA National Coach of the Year. We use a system that works with all ages and teaches simple, straight forward fundamentals that kids and adults can understand. Coaches are teachers first and foremost, and a program gets better quickly when everyone is on the same page."

"I felt that the camp overall was excellent! Larry works incredibly hard and makes sure the players do as well.  Every player attending got an amazing amount of volleyball knowledge, and I could see the players responding to him and his tough love approach.  Every time he asked the players if they wanted to get better, they would reply "YES"...and he could get them to do things that most coaches struggle to get players to do."

Lila holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Hampton University and a Juris Doctorate (Specializing in Sports Law) from Tulane Law School.  She is a Colorado licensed attorney, currently working for an oil and gas company in Denver.  She enjoys reading and singing...and, in fact, once sang the National Anthem at a Denver Nuggets basketball game and at the opening ceremonies for Junior Olympics!

"I grew up loving to play volleyball.  Everything I did was about volleyball...getting good grades, working hard, never giving up.  I had amazing coaches who helped reaffirm these values that my parents taught me.  Now, as a parent and a coach, I hope to do the same for young players.  If I had to name one thing that I enjoy most about coaching, it would be seeing my players finally come together at a team, creating a synergy that only they can create."

brent timmons

Brent Timmons, PCA Certified Coach
Brent started coaching youth recreational volleyball through the City of Parker several years ago, always emphasizing player improvement AND a good experience with volleyball.  He has also coached for Parker Hawks, developing every player so that they made the A and B teams at their respective schools.  He started as a parent and volunteer assistant coach at South Metro and has advanced to one of our best coaches in very little time.

After growing up in Southern California, Brent believes volleyball is just as much for boys to love as it is for girls.  While still actively involved in playing volleyball as an adult, he also heads several athletic programs and youth church teams.  Perhaps even more impressive, is that he runs his own track club, Parker Panthers.  Brent loves all sports, but competed collegiately in the decathlon for Brigham Young University.  He also earned a Master's of Accountancy from the school and is currently a CPA operating as CFO for a small gold mining company headquartered in Colorado.

"I think if you teach the correct fundamentals (like trying to have three touches on each side), you will make better players who learn the sport the right way so they can build and grow.  Winning is nice, but doing the right thing is more important.  I also embrace the philosophy of letting the volleyball teach the girls - that is to say, running practices/drills efficiently so they get a high amount of touches during the short amount of time we have to practice."

"Brent is an amazing coach!  He really loves volleyball and comes in with the attitude that he wants the kids to have fun!"
—Anonymous

"Brent does a fantastic job!"
—Anonymous

"Coach Brent goes above and beyond.  He is very positive, wants to do extra practices only if the kids want to, and is just wonderful. My daughter has learned more from him than any other coach we have had!  He understands the game completely, and when the girls are practicing or playing...he always makes sure they are doing it correctly. He assists them always!"
